Recurring Invoices Now Available

When Zaprite CEO John Magill wrote the first lines of code for what would become Zaprite, it was to create a bitcoin-focused invoicing product.

While Zaprite has grown substantially from this original invoice-centric product, Invoices remain core to our strategy in helping businesses migrate to a bitcoin standard. Just like Payment Links, Invoices allow business owners to present bitcoin and fiat payment options side-by-side, can be augmented with premiums or discounts, and come with all of the reporting a business will need to keep their accounts in order. Today, Invoices receive a much anticipated upgrade as we launch Recurring Invoices.

Most Zaprite clients choose to migrate to Zaprite from fiat products like Quickbooks or Xero. These clients are usually not bitcoin focused businesses, but rather businesses with owners who want to earn bitcoin for their company’s balance sheet and for themselves. Like most businesses, many of their clients pay them on predictable intervals in perpetuity, or in order to satisfy the term of a contract. Zaprite now enables you to solve for both use cases, creating Recurring Invoices that match almost any schedule. Let’s dig into how it works.

Creating Recurring Invoices

There are two ways to create a Recurring Invoice:

  1. In the left hand navigation, go to Recurring Invoices and then New Recurring Invoice, or
  2. In the main Invoices view, choose Convert to Recurring for any Invoice you would like to upgrade.

Creating a Recurring Invoice will feel familiar to our Invoice customers, with the main difference being the need to create a Schedule.

Here you can manage when the Invoice will first be sent (Start Date), at what rate the Invoice will recur (Frequency), and the total number of times—including the first—the Invoice should be sent (Occurrences).

Recurring Invoices can be edited at any point in the series, and edits will apply to all future occurrences of the invoice. Likewise, they can be paused, or deleted entirely.

In most ways, Zaprite invoicing is superior to fiat specialized invoicing products. Recurring Invoices helps us bridge one small gap in functionality, creating a familiar experience with the power of bitcoin.
